- Here's where to go to find the highest quality, sheerest, authentic 1950's style Fully-Fashioned Nylons. All are 100% Nylon, no Lycra here!
Our Full-Fashioned Nylons are knit on mills that produce a
stocking exactly as they were made in the 1940's and 1950's. The
mills were manufactured in the 1950's and produce authentic
nylons. Each stocking is knit in the shape of a leg, these are
not today's inferior stretch nylon product. The seam is a
result of a process that actually finishes the stocking and gives
the stocking its classic shape and fit. The "loop" at
the top backside of the stocking is also a result of the
finishing process and identifies a true Full-Fashioned Nylon.
Nylon stockings came to the market in the early 1940's shortly
after the invention of Nylon. They were so popular at the time
that they could not be manufactured fast enough to keep up with
the demand. World War II put a crimp in their production as
all the available nylon went into the making of powder bags for the big Naval
and Artillery guns and parachutes.
When the war ended production was started up again and the
same rush took place at the stores as everyone wanted their
wonderful nylons again.
They remained popular throughout the 1950's and were slowly
replaced by pantyhose, considered by many to be the "Work of
the Devil", in the 1960's. Pantyhose fit the modern,
fast lifestyle of the day and "liberated" the women of
the period from garter belts and real nylons. Nylons went
the way of the classic cars of the day, like the '57 Chevy, but
are enjoying a new popularity like the classic cars of the day
are experiencing. There is no substitute for a '57 Chevy,
and there is no substitute for REAL NYLONS!

We have a great Garter Belt and Waist Cincher, check them out! The Garter belt is available in Black or White with 6 to 12 garters, and the Waist Cincher is available in Black or White with 6 to 12 garters. Both are available in waist sizes up to 42 inches. The garters on both are 3/4 inch wide elastic and are made using all metal clips and adjusters. Both the Garter Belt and the Waist Cincher fit great, look great and will actually hold up your nylons. Function and beauty combined!
