Are my Nylons properly supported?

Nylons need an item of lingerie to hold them up properly and keep the seams straight if they have seams. Some nylons are called "Stay Up", these usually have silicone rubber bands in the welts that are supposed to hold them up. I have found that additional support is usually called for with these.
There are a number of items that can be worn that will hold you nylons up properly.
Garter Belts

Probably the easiest to wear is a good garter belt with a minimum of 6 quality garters. Many women prefer 8 garters to insure that their nylons stay up properly. Men usually like even more garters for the visual effect they create, ours are available with 6, 8, 10, or 12 garters, take your pick!!!

Many garter belts have the fastenings made out of plastic, avoid these as they are not very secure. Stick with garter belts that have metal hardware, they will hold your nylons up more securely and the metal hardware will not deteriorate as the plastic will.

Garter belts are ordered by waist size, if you fall in between sizes order the next smaller size for a better fit. A garter belt should be comfortable to wear and those without hook and eye fastenings, pull ons, are more comfortable since they are usually wider all around, especially in back. The wider garter belts are more comfortable as they distribute the holding power over a wider area of your body while providing more hold up power.

Many garter belts that you will find are pretty but not very functional, beware of those. The length of the garters should be adjustable and they should be long enough to prevent your garter belt being pulled down when you sit. The garters should also be made of a good stretch elastic that's a minimum of 3/4 inch wide. Many women have tried a low quality garter belt, have been disappointed with the way it fit and have given up on garter belts. I find them to be very comfortable and easy to wear.

A question that we get on a regular basis is "Should I wear my panties under or over my garter belt?"

The most practical answer is to put your panties on OVER your garter belt for a number of obvious reasons. The only time my panties go on first is if we are shooting pictures for the web site, the panties would partially hide the garter belt if worn over it. The decision is yours though I will say that men prefer panties worn over a garter belt, if at all ;-)
Waist Cinchers, Corsets, Bustiers, etc..

Many women prefer to wear lingerie that provides some shaping and looks pretty. All of these items fit into that category. Since many of these items fit lower on ones hips than a garter belt the garters can be shorter but all of the other things that I mentioned about garters still apply. Quality garters are a must if you want a secure, comfortable fit.

As for the number of garters the same rules apply here. Good quality lingerie should have a minimum of 6 garters, 3 on each leg, for a good fit. For a sexy look nothing beats a nice corset, a pair or nylons, and spike heels. Check out our pictures on the web site and you will see what I mean!!!

We carry both waist cinchers and corsets that are very pretty and very functional. We now have a waist cincher with satin panels in front that match our bullet bras, a killer combination!!!
Girdles

Girdles are yet another option that many women prefer. A quality girdle will shape you and will be very comfortable to wear. They are sized by waist size and are generally designed for a hip size appx. 10 inches larger than ones waist. There are a number of different styles available.

Open Bottom Girdles (OBG)

This is a popular style that is always worn with nylons. They all come equipped with garters and they work with the nylons. The nylons tend to keep the bottom of the girdle where it should be. It's a very comfortable combination and the girdle provides shaping, something that most of us need a bit of!!! This is a very popular style with women that wear nylons.

Open bottom girdles vary from very light control to very heavy control and are available in many styles. The light control girdles are usually made from Lycra and provide varying amounts of control and shaping depending on the design of the girdle.

The other end of the spectrum includes girdles made with non-stretch fabrics, these provide maximum control and shaping. I have two of these, one laces in front and the other has a lacing system that covers the back, very sexy!! Most women won't need these but men love them since they are visual creatures, thank God, and these styles provide lots of visual stimulation, especially when they have 6 garters on each leg!!!
Panty Girdles

Panty girdles can be worn with or without nylons. Many women wear them under jeans or slacks and the garters should be removable. They also provide varying degrees of control and some of them are very pretty, especially the one with satin panels. They are sized by waist size.
How to care for your lingerie and nylons

Lingerie should be washed by hand if at all possible. This will insure that they last as long as possible. A mild soap should be used, there are a number of them available made especially for washing lingerie and nylons.

After washing the item should be well rinsed then rolled up in a towel to remove the excess water.
NEVER PUT YOUR LINGERIE IN A DRYER!!!
This is the fastest way to ruin it, especially if you have items with garters. Plastic garters will melt and the rubber fasteners on the garter clips will be ruined by the heat. Even if you remove the garters the heat from the dryer will shorten the life of the garment. Most lingerie contains some elastic, heat is a sure way to ruin it. We recommend laying out your lingerie on a dry towel to dry.

Nylons should be washed and dried the same way, NEVER hang them over something to dry, they will be stretched out of shape!!! Remove your rings before washing nylons to insure that the nylons will not be caught on them and be ruined. With proper care your lingerie and nylons will give you the longest wear and the most for your money.
